MUSICAL DIRECTOR
Franck Pellé-Rolland is a French choral conductor. He founded Le Chant des Oyseaux in 2005 and has been running choral singing courses there ever since. He directs the Ensemble Choral Mixte de Lyon and teaches piano. He sang for ten years as a permanent member of the Chœurs de Lyon-Bernard Tétu.
He studied choral conducting under Nicole Corti, Antoine Finck and occasionally under Régine Théodoresco.

Franck broadened his experience under musicians of various influences in many workshops and courses : Peter Phillips, Tõnu Kaljuste, Adrian Lucas, Ghislaine Morgan, Gunnar Eriksson, Roland Hayrabédian, Marcel Pérès, Daïnouri Choque, Bruno Boterf, Nageswara Rao, etc.

« My work as a conductor tends to authenticity, depth, high artistic standard, conscious listening of the sound and weaving of a sensitive and subtil sonorous canvas between the choir members who sing together and not just next to each other.
For me the choir which is created during rehearsals is not just the sum of individuals who are singing in the same room at the same time (even if it can be obviously useful !). It is the harmonious meeting and blending of people who share the best part of themselves by singing with their heart and ears, in a common artistic, lively and joyful process. »
